How you can support your library.
VolunteeringDo you love libraries? Want to learn new skills or contribute existing skills to our library? If so, consider joining our volunteer team! Volunteer opportunities include helping to shelve library materials, mend books, organize a collection of local historical materials, and more. You could give well-loved books a new lease on life through our Book Doctor position, help keep a favorite shelf in order as a Circulation Assistant, or organize old photographs and newspaper clippings of Forest Grove history. If you are interested in joining our team, please fill out a Volunteer Application (PDF) and return it to the library (attention Kari Middleton). You may be asked to come in for an interview. Please note that we ask volunteers to be at least 13 years old and to make a 3-month commitment. Most volunteer opportunities require a regular schedule, but sometimes exceptions are available, depending on your situation. If you have questions about the volunteer program, please contact Kari Middleton at karim@wccls.org or (503) 992-3328. Thanks for your interest! |
Friends of the Forest Grove Library
The Friends of the Forest Grove Library is made up of individuals, families and businesses who support the Forest Grove Library and its mission. Some members support the Friends simply by paying their annual dues, while others become more involved in the Friends' projects such as the Board, book sales, programs or special events. |
|
The Friends enhance library services by providing materials and equipment beyond city and county funding, and through sponsorship of programs and special events. As advocates, members of the Friends promote awareness and usage of the library's resources and materials. |
|
Membership forms are available at the Circulation Desk in the library, and dues are reasonable. Members receive the Friends' newsletters which provide updates on current issues and events relating to the Friends and the library. We hope you will join us! |
The Library FoundationThe Forest Grove Library Foundation, established in 2000, raises community awareness of the city library and develops donated resources for special program initiatives, important capital needs, and a permanent endowment fund for the exclusive benefit of the Forest Grove City Library. |
|
The Library Foundation completed a $1 million capital campaign in 2006 for renovation of the older part of the building and is currently fundraising for other library needs. |
